Sagayan Festival: A Dynamic Celebration of Culture, Dance, and Warrior Traditions in Lanao del Norte

The Sagayan Festival is a cultural event which is based on the colorful costumes of the women of Lanao del Norte, a province in Northern Mindanao region. This is a traditional ethnic dance called Sagayan which is performed by “warriors” clad in three-tiered skirts with brightly colored headgear, with elaborately painted shields and double-bladed swords.
